Description
Look no further, choc-choppers. Finally, a first-class solution for tight vertical spacing! Or the function row keys on a laptop-style keyboard, for the more normal among you. For some reason, Kailh has also decided to make the 5u spacebar keycap fit with the smaller switch.
This one is surface-mount, there are no through-hole pins to go through a printed circuit board (PCB). Instead the contact pads underneath the switch body are designed to be reflow soldered by applying solder paste and then heating with a hotplate, reflow oven, or similar. However, some have reported success with soldering them from the bottom using through-holes in a PCB to get around this limitation. The payoff is potentially a keyboard that measures just 5mm from the bottom of the PCB to the top of the keycap!
These are sold individually. Grab as many as you need and a few extras, and don’t forget the keycaps!
Boards made for these switches are coming soon to this store. Subscribe via email at the bottom of this page, or join the Discord for updates!
